Opening in 2013, the Mary Duke Biddle Trent Semans Center for Health Education is the first new home for medical education at Duke since 1930. It meets all the needs of medical students today with a suite of technological advances, a large auditorium, a student life center, and places for collaboration, dining and studying.
Trent Semans features the Human Simulation Patient Safety Center, where students learn procedural trainings and course of care for working in an ICU. It presents an opportunity for students to be better prepared as interns when their work with real patients begins.

Duke Forward, Duke University’s seven-year fundraising campaign, raised $3.85 billion between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2017. The campaign allowed us to enrich the student experience in and out of the classroom, invest in exceptional faculty and support research and initiatives focused on training leaders to address society’s most pressing challenges.
