DukeEngage is Duke’s signature service-learning program. Each summer it sends roughly 400 undergraduates to spend eight weeks in communities in the U.S. and around the globe.
It provides students like Duke juniors Maddie Go and Joseph Hsiung with incredible opportunities to learn more about themselves and the world around them. Here, as part of DukeEngage-Thailand, Joseph and others teach Thai students in Phang Nga, Thailand, English vocabulary through a blindfolded scavenger hunt as part of the lesson.
